Mind Your Elders
Ripe, rich elderberries.
Our elderberry jelly is pretty gosh-durned tasty! I'm sure you've all seen the elderberry "explosion" that's been going on lately... we've been riding that train for YEARS. Our first bush, the one my lovely wife refers to as "Grandmother Elder" has been providing us with awesome, healthy, delicious berries for the last 15 years. We planted it because we are closeted Elton John fans (we both grew up in heavy metal households) and were inspired by the song "Elderberry Wine". Turns out we really sucked at that...
Anyway, fast forward a bit. So, when we found out about all the reported health and immune system benefits of this incredibly tasty berry, we knew we had to use it. So again, sweetened only with locally sourced honey we made this jelly (and also syrup... don't forget the syrup!) for you to spread on your PB&J sammy, finish off a cracker topped with goat cheese, or add the syrup to your favorite "sickie tea" to help on those snotty, icky feeling days. That thing we do to chocolate martinis, with the "Sassy Red-Head" syrup?... just as good with "Mind Your Elders"!!!
