Potions Camp 2024 - "Second Years" (1)
"Second years” camp is for students ages 9-13. Here we’ll learn more in-depth information about these helpful plants, as well as the “science” behind the “potion”, and create a few herbal crafts and remedies to take home.

About the Event
Day 1 – Introduction and Exploration
Explore the gardens in search of plants for our potions. You might be surprised at how many you already know. We’ll learn about where they like to grow, how they like to grow, and ways to work with them. We’ll also create a field book to store all of our new plant knowledge.
Day 2 – Protective Potions and crafts
Today we’ll learn about plants used historically for protection and create our own personal “Mojo” bags to carry with us. We’ll also create a “pocket potion” to help protect us from stress and anxiety.
Day 3 – Clearing Potions and crafts
Today we’ll learn about plants used historically for clearing negative energies from our spaces. We’ll learn about smudging, and create our own herbal smudge sticks, as well as a “clearing potion” for when smudging is not appropriate.
